Transitioning Hair Styles

I love Clip-in extensions as a "Transition Hairstyle". They are very easy to apply, and look completely natural.

My Goal

My goal is to transition as long as possible. I will not big chop until my natural hair is at a length in which I am comfortable with.

Welcome to my Journey

I started my transition on November 13th 2009. I am currently three months into my transition. I decided to stop relaxing my hair because I want to know what my real hair looks like. I can't wait to be natural, do wash and gos and all that good stuff. Welcome to my journey ^_^
I got my first relaxer when i was thirteen. As a child I remember my hair being almost unmanageable. My mother would wash my hair all the way up to the age of thirteen! lol She would get a small plastic chair, have me sit in the chair in the tub & go to work. It literally took her hours every Sunday doing my hair into four braids, Needless to say, when I got my first relaxer my hair was healthy thick and LONG. All the way down to my hip. Over the years...hair gel...lightning gel...flat iron...blow dryer...rough handling...my hair took a turn for the worse.
When I was 18 got my first weave & for the past three years I've been depending on them. It was on February 13th that I decided to not put in any more weaves, relaxers or any kind of chemical in my hair.
I am what you call a long term transitioner...summer of '07...I saw so many pictures of Posh (Victoria Beckham) with that cute "bob" hairstyle,,,I really wanted it. So I chopped off my hair up to my earlobe!! I am not doing that again. One month into my haircut I put in a weave. It has damaged the back of my hair. I don't want to depend on that anymore so I am going NATURAL! Yayy!
If I'm not mistaken, I believe my hair type is a 3B or 3C. Being that I am only three months into this transition I will definetly need hair staples....see new post... ;)
